X200 Tablet w/windows 10 streaming video problems
As the subject says, I'm having streaming video problems on my Tablet. I bought it from a dude on craigslist who installed windows 10. I reformatted and added my own license key. If a play a video file on vlc everything works just fine, but if I stream from the internet its a non starter. I really need to be able to do video chats on this. Am I missing a driver? Thanks.

Re: X200 Tablet w/windows 10 streaming video problems
Personally I wouldn't pick a laptop older than a 2nd gen Core i5/i7 when it comes to anything web-related.
Core 2 Duos can barely keep up with the demands of resource hogs like Windows 10 and modern web browsers.
That said, I'll try to help with your issue.
1. Check Device Manager, specifically Display Adapters-- if it says "Microsoft Basic Display Adapter" then it's definitely not installed. Intel never made a Windows 10 driver for this-- you'll have to take your chances with the Windows 7/8 driver. If the proper driver is installed, it should be "Intel GMA X4500MHD" or similar
2. THe GMA X4500MHD has hardware decode support for H.264 and none of the newer codecs like H.265 (HEVC), VP8, VP9, AV1, etc. Do note that hardware video decoding will only work if both the driver and applications support those features. AFAIK the driver supports it, but I've never tested the GMA X4500 on Windows 10. Check the web browser as well: https://www.howtogeek.com/412738/how-to ... in-chrome/
