IBM ThinkPad 380Z

#1 Post by svenanders » Mon Feb 12, 2024 7:29 am

Hello there!

I have an IBM ThinkPad 380Z and was planning on getting a gamepad
working on this laptop. Any suggestion on what type of gamepad that will work?
It has a USB 1.0 port as far as I know.

Any step by step solutions here would be very helpful. :)

Probably depends more on the OS you have than the type of USB port you have. In summary:

A gamepad that supports USB 1.0 and the operating system you have, will work.

Careful - that ones a Game Port variant, not USB, typical ebay muppet contradictions between the title and description and no photo of the crucial bit  Other USB Sidewinders are available :)

Thanks. I'm also trying to get this machine booting from a CF-CARD through the PCMCIA-port.
Anyone had luck with that? Probably not possible right?

Microsoft SideWinder Game Pad USB
The seller has used USB in the listing at least 4 times and then chooses to add a caveat in the sub-title that it isn't. What a numpty. I'd buy it just to then raise it as an issue with ebay forcing him to refund me with or without returning it at their cost. These people just waste everyone's time.

I'm getting that feeling a lot lately.

Suggest you start a new topic. Or maybe just try. Who knows, maybe you'll bring something to the party?
