Re: ThinkTab Compatibility with USB to Serial Adapters
I'm looking into the same thing, but unfortunately haven't been able to find any information on drivers. There are however, a number of people out there using a serial to bluetooth adapter to connect the to serial end of the rollover cable and then connecting to the adapter via bluetooth. While not ...

@random
Thanks for the update! I usually check every day for new updates but this one didn't show up. I'll get this installed along with the latest Ethernet drivers and update my first post accordingly if I get through the day without any lockups or freezing.

Re: Issues Installing Updated ATI Catalyst Drivers
@think2wice No idea why the version listed in the links works as compared to the other versions. I'm guessing that even though its catalyst 10-5, it would be slightly revised compared to the the other versions of 10-5. As for dropped frames, it will do so if I'm skipping about the video, but given a...

Re: Issues Installing Updated ATI Catalyst Drivers
Maybe I should just be happy that it works, but what is special about this version? The newer drivers, while not only more efficient, also allow for smoother playback of Flash HD video when combined with Flash 10.1 available at http://labs.adobe.com/ . It offloads some of the processing onto your v...

@ug-02 Thanks for the links! I was finally able to install the updated drivers both without having to use Mobility Modder or manually update the drivers. The install updated both the Catalyst Control Center and the Display Drivers without any issues. I've updated my original post on the subject as w...

Re: 8GB Memory ?
I can confirm that the x100e accepts 4gb dimms. The bios that shipped on my machine, and the current recognize them in either slot. (I now have a 4gb dimm and a 1gb dimm in mine). One issue with having that much ram (4gb+) appears to be that the on-board video sucks up ~1400mb of it, leaving ~2.75g...

Re: Issues Installing Updated ATI Catalyst Drivers
Where can I find the older 10.4 version on the web? Can't find it anywhere. I'll be getting my X100e next week and I'll need this as well since I will immediately install 64-bit Win7. Thanks! I had to do a bit of searching but found the combined (Catalyst Control Center + Display Driver) package he...

Re: Issues Installing Updated ATI Catalyst Drivers
The uac is fully disabled only after a reboot. Disabling the uac (here) is not meant to correctly install the patched drivers, but to correctly patch the drivers. So the correct sequence should be: Disable UAC > reboot > unpack the drivers > patch them > install the ccc > install the the drivers > ...

Re: Issues Installing Updated ATI Catalyst Drivers
Just an update to the situation.
Dowloaded the 10.4 drivers and had the same situation occur. I'm guessing its an issue with the current version of Mobility Modder, so I'll wait for an update on that end, or hope that Lenovo puts out newer, updated drivers.

@The Solutor: I had the system turn off UAC during the installation but I never rebooted. Edit: June 8, 2010 Thanks to the links provided by ug-02 I've been able to successfully install the latest Catalyst drivers (10-5) without the need for Mobility Modder. Re: x100e L625 Random Freeze With Wired Ethernet Connection
Do you notice a performance improvement with Win64 vs 32? Thinking to throw it on, but didn't necessarily want to go through the hassle if the only option I will get is Bitlocker. Bitlocker is only an option available on the Enterprise and Ultimate versions of Windows 7, regardless of if you have t...

Re: x100e L625 Random Freeze With Wired Ethernet Connection
I had the same issue, I can confirm using the Ethernet driver for XP and installing it as "XP SP3" has worked so far, 24 hrs of use with no lockups. Have not tried 64 Bit Win7 yet though, same may apply until a new bios fix comes out or driver. Just thought I would confirm this fix for others. Than...

Re: warranty period
For most Lenovo warranty's, it is based upon when the machine was originally built. In this case for you, you could probably call up Lenovo to verify this. If you were to have a warranty claim after the warranty but before 1 year from the time you purchased it, you could probably offer up your recei...

Re: x100e L625 Random Freeze With Wired Ethernet Connection

A product requiring a mainboard replacement suggests that the issue cannot be fixed with d...

how is the power and the heat with the L625. Think you folks are the first to get this so would be great to hear what you have to say, esp relative to your old machines. For the life of me, I cannot get Bluetooth to work. Windows doesn't see it at all. I've enabled it in the BIOS, tried turning it off then on, etc. It doesn't come up in the list of devices anywhere. @morkli I just got my x100e dual core L625. After making the rescue and recovery DVDS with my USB CD/DVD Burner, I swapped out the hard drive and attempted to do a clean install of Win 7 x64 using a Win 7 install disc but it's telling me it gives me a media failure and does not recognize an OS. Re: X100e Dual Core Models
I made an error and presumed that you were comparing a new X100e to a new X200 which in retrospect was silly on my part. FWIW, I'm leaning toward the the X100e with Athlon X2 dual core processor. Admittedly, a used X60 does look good in comparison at that price, but like with the X200, it may come ...

Re: X100e Dual Core Models
When the option for the dual-cores came up, I went ahead and made the purchase that day, going with the L625 option. Good thing too since now they don't allow the L625 unless you get 2GB RAM, Gobi WWAN and 250 GB HD....though I did opt to max out the RAM at 4GB since it would have only saved me $10-...
