T500 docking station, 100mbit works but 1gbit does not
I have a docking station (port replicator) for the T500. I am trying to get it to do gigabit. I can do gigabit if I connect directly to the Ethernet port of the laptop. I called IBM and since the docking station is out of warranty they can't help me (even though the laptop itself is). The person on ...

Changing out WLAN cards
From what I see there are two options for the T500. An Atheros BG card and an Intel 5350 AGN card. Not a fan of Intel cards (in Linux especially!) I'm wondering if anyone has tried using a "random" Atheros card in the T500. My main focus is A and G. N is a bonus, not that big a deal. The AR9280 look...

Totally an XP problem. You're at the mercy of the software deciding what screens go where.
Some applications may help you. Start with UltraMon.

One of them appears to be a 2878 Mini Dock, which at the asking price is a steal!! Probably why tfflivemb2 beat me to 'em. But I'm still not sure if a mini dock would do me any good. "Cause I was thinking it would be nice to have a PCI expansion slot. Docking stations have that, right? Does a mini ...

Two docking stations - used with T30 [incl images]
I have two used docking stations here. I used them about a year ago and they just sat on the table. I am tired of seeing them sit there. Both have included power cable/power supplies with them. No additional cards are included with the advanced docking station. I am asking $5 plus the cost of shippi...

I've carried around a z61m for a few months now. It is far too heavy to hold with one hand for anything more then 15 minutes, but it isn't too heavy. Carrying this laptop (along with a LOT of extra junk like cables, CDs, PC cards, etc) in my Targus shoulder bag will begin to ache on my shoulders, th...

t30 2367-81g, heavily modified. for all i know, the system type is not relevant to the appearance of the problem. for some reason cards with pci id 1014 are not started in the t30. use the idchanger.c (google) and linux to modify the pci id, for example to: PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_0012&SUBSYS_2022168C it'...

Let me get this straight... You want me to remove the device from the device manager. Then you want me to search the entire %SYSTEMROOT% for oem??.inf files? Which ones do I delete? OK...I downloaded those drivers and then specified which driver to use. Windows says it wasn't compatible, so I don't know if it's the driver or the PCI ID problem now. I was given a list (all of which were 'incompatible') of devices, most being AR500# and my card is an AR5212. The last one on the l...

New WLAN Card - Error 10 (Device cannot start)
I just got off the phone with IBM's Thinkpad Technical Support and this new wifi card is 'not supported by this machine'. I put in an Atheros 5212 and the previous owner told me he upgraded the motherboard, so I don't know what the model number of it is. It installed the drivers just fine, but it gi...
