Re: Likely counterfeit battery with genuine-looking Lenovo label

I need a new battery now too and was about to start a new thread. I tried a "generic" battery years ago and got rid of it because Thinkpad Power Manager kept popping up an alert that it was not a "genuine" battery and it was annoying. Are there any "generic" batteries that don't do this i.e. have th...

Re: Video output to TV via VGA-to-component cable?

Still haven't gotten the component cable yet from Hong Kong. Received the VGA-to-HDMI converter from a US seller, but the image is distorted on the TV in 1920x1080. The picture is squished to the right 3/4 of the screen with a 1/4 black bar on the left. Grrrr. 1388x720 looks right but my tv is 1080p...

Re: Video output to TV via VGA-to-component cable?

Or can the X61 or X6 dock output DVI through the VGA connector, i.e. use a VGA-to-DVI dongle to get DVI?

Re: Video output to TV via VGA-to-component cable?

I'm assuming you used it with your X61? Hm shoot. Does anyone have experience with a VGA-to-HDMI or DVI convert? The ~$50 ones seem to only go up to 1680x1050.

Video output to TV via VGA-to-component cable?

Would a VGA-to-component cable work with the X61 video card? I read somewhere that the signal data is the same but the sync works differently. My T42p shows "TV" and "monitor" as different output devices, and it uses the "monitor" setting when a TV is connected via VGA so I presume that may be able ...

don't think so. used it with a Playstation 3, it lagged a bit at the first few keystrokes when "waking up" then i think it was ok after it connected.

Also selling an X61 (see sig). I have one that I am keeping, which I am immensely happy with. Don't miss my T60 with 1400x1050 screen. Resolution is not too big, since its a smaller screen, everything is smaller and about the same size as it was on the T60. Screen brightness is fine and didn't notic...
