Laptop Theft Alarm Software for Thinkpads
Thought you guys might be interested in this...I don't have an applicable Thinkpad to test it on, but other forums seem to suggest success. http://www.musatcha.com/software/LaptopTheftPrevention/ Looks like it works with your START+L lock command to use the accelerometer in the models with APS to so...

Wow, this is incredibly helpful. I too have a 1.13 T23 and am thinking about doing this soon. I have no idea how clean/dirty my cooling system is, but I try to blow it out (without taking stuff apart, thru the grill) whenever I can. Still...I'm concerned about the BSOD's. Were you having them before...

Wow. I recently went through a lot of the same drama, and went into a realm I knew nothing about. I, too, tried the new flavor of Ubuntu (for the first time) and while it was interesting, I didn't really like it. Removing it also killed the MBR (had no idea what it was prior to this experience) and ...

Welcome to the forum! The biggest factor to me is form. The T61 will have a 14.1" WS which I believe is smaller than the 14" 4:3. The less weight and more screen space are nice qualities. If you can wait, I think maybe you should. But if you prefer the regular 4:3 shape, then you could just go for a...

Great set up. You ever fancy making it dual monitor, with various diagnostic/system status tools or widgets on the T23 so you could glance at it for quick stats? That's more or less how I use mine. However, I also have a 19" ws, as Monitor 2...what resolution are you using on it? I've also got a T23...

Summer Interns/What do you do for a living?
I know a lot of you work with some large, some not so large companies and corporations. I am trying to get a crack into the business world. To be quite honest, I find myself struggling at school and despite my hard work, it isn't paying off with the grades. I really think my skills are best suited i...

Hi Ray, Thanks for the suggestions. For better or worse, I've tried all your suggestions beforehand. I went through them again, but everything looks right. I've turned off my firewalls to see if those had an effect...the X30 uses Comodo Pro and the T23 Look'N'Stop (only because I can't reinstall Com...

GOAL To share the contents of my hard drive over my wireless network. It's secured, and has a MAC filter...it should be very safe. I want the shared folders to be accessible in My Network Places. How may processes do you have at idle?
Just wondering how bloated I am compared to some of you other users! After startup, with my security features loaded and some Thinkpad software running, I have about 39 processes running. Once I get AIM and Yahoo Widget Engine up, it's about 46, taking about 350mb of RAM based on Task Manager. On my...

A few hundred through my Duke email, a few hundred more through Gmail. Duke is redirected to Gmail which I use for everything. It's pretty bad. I use CCleaner regularly. If you want to spend some money, get TuneUp Utilities 2007. Great piece of software, IMO. It's 1-Click Maintenance feature is handy as well. When you're selected what to copy, all partitions on the drive should show up. I remember my partition was greyed out a bit and was marked hidden. It's still on there now on the new HD. It should work out okay, but you should also know it's being copied before the process is officially under way (ie...

"International License Agreement..." XP SP2 instal
Trying to reinstall XP after something bad happened to my system. Honestly, it really sucks at the moment. Anyway, I get to the screen where I have to start setting up XP. Some cheezy music plays and I agreed to something and hit next. But now it's a weird screen that has the Blue XP background to i...

It appears Zone Alarm (Pro) was part of the problem. After being happy with it for weeks, I'm going back to Comodo now. Maybe for good...who knows. Unfortunately, I don't have the time at the moment to fix this. It's pretty harrowing messing with the operating system files as it is. I'm doing my fir...
