All ThinkPad T-Series uses TN panel now??

I went to Micro Center today to check out T410 and T410s as I was thinking about ordering one to replace my T60.. However, the lcd screen look really terrible compare to IPS (all my desktop monitors are IPS) or even PVA (T60 is PVA) Is it true that all T-Series uses TN LED backlit panel?? If so, are...

What's the best way to restore/re-install XP on T42?

What would you guys recommend when it comes to re-install XP on the old T42?? System restore obviously works, however, my recovery discs are dated from 2005 w/ XP SP2.. So all the drivers and IBM softwares are outdated and IBM update doesn't seem to work anymore.. Will it be better if I just install...

I just upgraded my T60 from T2500 to T7200 and immediately, I noticed that the fan noise is louder. I don't believe the increase fan idle speed has anything to do with the temperature rather it's determined by the CPU TYPE. The system automatically determinted that you have Core 2 Duo rather than Co...

Well, just like pianowizard said, I really can't tell you the performance gain I saw is the result of additional memory or dual channel. I think the additional amount of memory helps more than dual channel as far as performance is concern. However, if you are going to upgrade from 1GB single stick, ...

Why don't you sell your 120GB 5400RPM HDD then go for Hitachi 7K100 100GB? It shouldn't cost you all that much to upgrade this way.
Then perhaps you can even afford to spend extra $80 to $100 on memory...

Somehow my T60's power manager seems to display inaccurate battery charging information.

Like even if batter has been charged to around 85%, it still shows around 2:00 to finish charge?

No, the design of the T43 isn't fundamentally flawed; I really wish people would do some real thinking before spouting stuff out. There are quite a few T43s that do just fine, are silent, and have absolutely no heat problems. If the T43 is a fundamentally flawed design, then so are most of the T4X ...

Exactly, that's why I think T43 is a flawed product. Even with 5400RPM drive, T43 has a problem with heat coming from chipset/cpu/gpu, if you add 7200rpm drives, then the fan would be even worse. That's why TP Fan Control was created to partially solve the problem. However, even with TP Fan Control,...

Well..Lenovo still kept the name ThinkPad and IBM on the notebook.
Consider how good a job they did with T60..I don't mind the little Lenovo letters next to model number.
