Re: Soft keyboard on T43?
I have NMB on my refurbished T60. I think it is a habit matter to be comfortable with the keyboard, but for the sake of completeness, I mention this.

Soft keyboard on T43?
Is the keyboard on T43 soft? When I write a text and have to have a thinking pause, I find the keyboard on T60 uncomfortable. Is T43 similar?

WTB: T50 or motherboard for T50
Hello. I want to buy a ready T50 computer or a motherboard for the T50. I have one important question, though: How is the keyboard - if it is NMB and if it is something else - on the T50 (i.e. T4x) compared to the NMB keyboard on the T60? I feel that the keyboard on Dell Latitude D820 is more pleasa...

Different mouse wheel settings for trackpoint and mouse
I have a problem with using an external mouse in addition to the trackpoint, which I frequently do. Then, I want to go one screen down at a time using the wheel instead of three lines. I prefer going down one line at a time when using the scrolling button with trackpoint, but as soon as I switch to ...

Re: So what is the last definitive Thinkpad to own?
I recently discovered in the T4x forum that an unofficial motherboard has recently been produced in China for the T43. It is called T50 and is compatible with a first generation i3/5/7 processor. It was also briefly mentioned in one of the three threads you will find about the matter in that subforu...

Re: YouTube and NRK: flash-intensive applications w/ Core Du
What are your CPUs for the respective laptops? (I take for granted that you have 2 GB RAM or more. I have 2 GB.)

Re: YouTube and NRK: flash-intensive applications w/ Core Du
Thank you, I will take the experience you share into account when deciding the processor. As for the links, they should work. Are you sure you saw them all? I have put them all in bold now. One more thing: I notice that the difference between buying, say, T9300 new from a Norwegian store and (used) ...

YouTube and NRK: flash-intensive applications w/ Core Duo
I am considering upgrading at least my CPU in my T60. On YouTube, and especially in our public broadcasting's television player, the CPU frequently goes to 100 % and the video does not run smoothly. I invite owners of T60 to report their results on YouTube and their processor specifications (I assum...

Does the T60 NMB keyboard withstand fast typing over time?
Hello, I enjoy from time to time to use the 10 Fast Fingers speed test on my T60, which I believe has an NMB keyboard. I wonder if it withstands the typing of short and/or long words in arbitrary order for hours at a time. I have also not found out if this keyboard is, by definition, a mechanical ke...

Re: Best 4:3 machine... Toughbook vs. Thinkpad?
My problem is that the choices get fewer and fewer as there are fewer and fewer non-chiclet keyboards. While I do not rule out that I can possibly use some of the (chiclet- and) semi-chiclet ones, they will typically belong to business class computers like Precisions or gaming computers like Alienwa...

Re: Best 4:3 machine... Toughbook vs. Thinkpad?
I am personally very ambivalent about 4:3 versus 16:9 screens for laptops. The best argument for the latter is, as mentioned above, the possibility for multi-tasking. While I find that multi-tasking in many cases is destructive, it is often the case that what is multi-tasking for the computer is rea...

Re: Thinkpad Fan Noise Problem: Light at the End of the Tunn
Thank you for the reply. I actually read through the FAQ, but I wanted to ask just to be on the safe side, as I didn't find any explicit confirmation that this version is compatible with ThinkPad T60. I overlooked the natural interpretation of "common version" that is "common for all ThinkPads ( T4x...

Re: Thinkpad Fan Noise Problem: Light at the End of the Tunn
Sorry for not reading through the whole thread, but since I have already downloaded and started using tpfancontrol version 0.62 on my T60, I think I must ask to be on the safe side: Is this version compatible with T60?

WTB: Frankenpad T60/T61
I am at the moment considering one of the Frankenpads advertised below in the forum, but I want to test this marketplace from the opposite site. Thus, here are my wanted specifications for a Frankenpad built upon the T60 chassis with a T61 or a T61p motherboard: a) T9300 or T9500. (I gather these ar...

Which keyboard manufacturer (Nordic keyboard)
It seems pan-Nordic keyboards are not included in this overview, so I thought I could post my question here in case anyone knows:
Is my keyboard, with FRU number 39T0953 (or 39T0983) an ALPS, Chicony or NMB keyboard?
