There are two seems inside of the sleeve, holding the bag sides together. You can't miss those, they are all way down the bag. The top-end of those seems is the most scratchy area. I guess you could avoid that scratching if you slide the Thinkpad carefully enough inside of it or as another member su...

Dont get me wrong, it is nothing like a deep profound scratch. But it is a thin yet recognizable scratch about 10inch. I tried to reduce it with a dampened cloth, which reduced the effect somwhat, but the bitter taste stays. And so does my Thinkpad out of the sleeve. I already wrote to booq a...

Booq Powersleeve scratches the T-Series Surface

I received the Powersleeve and after sliding my T42 inside of it 2 or three times i recognized a long scratch on the T42 surface along the whole case. It is a result from the seam inside the sleeve. It is the seam from the exterior seem. This is obviously a profound design flaw, at least if using th...

i read that the booq vyper sleeve only protects from dust. if it drops, you'll be out of luck with the booq vyper.

2200bg vs atheros abg internal miniPCI

Hi! Anyone knows whats better for Linux, the intel 2200bg or the atheros abg miniPCI chip?

Better means

a) higher reception distance
b) lesser net losses
c) easier to configure

A simple password won't protect your harddrive if the date on it is not encryptet. Therefore if the data stays unencryptet with the FPR (what i assume), the IBM solution is not convincing.

since its not dual channel (ddr2), the size does not matter. you should pay attention to the same Timings (ns). Your Thinkpad will take your slowest module and will "downgrade" your faster one. So go for 2 equal modules.

T42 - 2373-4WU

I purchased an extra 1GB ram so I have 1.5GB total.

Works like a charm especially compiling. I'm using it for game development. (mobile phones)

Ok i read a lot more threads now and i sum up: The T42 is cooler, thus less noise level. But - getting a "silent" Thinkpad is pure luck. It depends on: - Bus-System/Speed of machine - Form Factor (14/15) - Build Date - Quality of Fan - FPR ?? (really?) So, i am getting a T42 w. FingerPrintReader now...
