Re: T60 bricked after failed attempt to flash libreboot

If you used "--programmer internal" parameter, disconnect CMOS battery for 15 minutes and plug it back.
I "bricked" my t60 this way too, but it helped me and I was able to flash it second time.

Re: WTB 15" Flexview/IPS screen for T60.

I have a lightly-used BoeHydis HV150UX2-100 UXGA IPS LED-screen, complete with modified inverter and LCD-cable-adapter. Its original LED-circuit failed, but I was able to replace that. The LCD is as good as new and in perfect condition. No scratches, no dead pixels, no bleeding. Price: €130.- incl....

Flash lenovo bios back. You DID a backup copy, right?
If it does not get back to life, I fear, your motherboard is fried.

Re: new to me modded t480!

It looks like LibreBoot disables tpm on the t480 https://libreboot.org/docs/install/t480.html#tpm-disabled Would this require me to reinstall win11 and bypass the tpm requirement? Or if I already have win11 would it not matter as long as I don't use bitlocker I don't think its possible to use windo...

Re: new to me modded t480!

I really want to make use of the WWAN slot, but don't need the extra storage enough to warrant the $$$. I do however have a M+B key 512gb 2230 NVMe drive, but if I try to use it in the WWAN, I get a 1802 unauthorized network card error which prevents me from even going into bios or OS. I did some l...

FS: Thinkpad parts for x60/t60

I decided to free some space at home. These are thing I couldn't make use of but you may need them. 2x15" T60 top lid with SXGA+ IPS screens. I got them to replays my XGA but they turned to be damaged hard, with bad pixels and blue pressure marks in the center where trackpoint is. Unusable — 20 euro...

Re: Checking interest before FS: Handmade ThinkPad T/X6x battery repair kit

One more thing I shall consider with that project is, is it a good idea if there is some sort of place online where we gather all the EEPROM dumps of these batteries, kinda like a BIOS dump, and then put a locked one vs one that's unlocked (permanent fail flag removed), so that ppl have somewhere t...

Re: Checking interest before FS: Handmade ThinkPad T/X6x battery repair kit

Sounds promising! Question: how exactly your "software" involved in process? Do we need it to hack controller firmware or to actually flash it back to a controller? Asking because I assume software you are talking about is written for windows and it might be tricky to make it work with IO-interfaces...

Around what stuff? Computers of all types since 1963. Anyway, end of discussion for me. You need to learn some manners. I wonder why you don't run android on your pc. There must be a reason, thought. I suspect I have been around this stuff for a lot longer than you have. I see Windows and Androids as the best we have (not counting Apple) for personal use. Both work and have world wide acceptance. There are reasons why. Around what stuff? You just said you are *avarge* user who gave up on Ubuntu...

Re: Your favorite Linux distro on a Thinkpad? Why?

How about installing Android on our Thinkpads? Many of us are already familiar with our Android phone and tablets, so no learning curve. And we could run the same apps without the memory/storage limitations of the portable devices. Android nowadays is just as bloated as windows, I think manufacture...

Re: i reinstalled windows 10 and no longer connect to internet

Linux Mint by default installs some drivers for NIC's and GPU's. Are you sure your windows installation had required drivers? I doubt Windows would carry hundreds of drivers for all the available hardware out there. What wifi card do you have? If you still have linux installed run "lspci | gr...

Re: Ready to ditch Windows?

When I was looking at Linux machines some time back, they seemed more expensive as they required you to get the best parts. I don't think you'd get a discount on a used box if you plan to run Linux. I run all three OSes and each has their pros/cons. What is "Linux machine"? Man, you just stick a th...
