I just came across this auction on eBay. It looks like a pawnbroker and he states that the LCD went black a couple of time during testing. It should still be under warranty - perhaps he'll send the serial number.

Anyway, seems like a great deal - I have too many TP's at this moment to grab it.

But we can certainly see that the machine was made in Oct 2004. So, if it has 3-year warranty, it's still covered!

It also has a CDW sticker on it, which it neither here nor there, but CDW does sell extended warranties.

with the magnifier it definitely ends in 8YU, but the first part is hard to read and serial # almost impossible.

I did that already this morning. The seller responded just 5 minutes ago saying he's out of town and thus can't get the info.

The MAGIC of eBay...gamble...

Given the model, original warranty has expired. Extended one may still be there.

Anyone considering buying this should verify the serial with Lenovo, and take it from there.

If it's clean, and under any type of warranty, this is a terrific buy.

I'll pass.

hmm ... I don't want to be too suspicious, but without seeing a serial number I don't want to buy a recent-is machine from ebay ... but the price is too good, so I am in two minds ...

Seller does not have any info on machine's warranty either ... I think I am going to pass this up.
