charging threshold kills battery?

#1 Post by gnawzie » Sat Apr 18, 2015 11:02 am

I got a newish 9 cell battery for my t60 and i read that keeping it below full charge is better and that having it charge below 40% and stop at 50% is best if it's not being used often. Over a few days my capacity dropped from 90% to 63% which is very strange... maybe the quality is bad, says it was manufactured in 2014 so it's not all that old and it wasn't used. Should I not use charging threshold then or should I just pull the battery when it's done charging to 50%?

Is this battery genuine or not ?

to get correct readying from the battery capacity, you need to perform full charge+discharge cycles, few times, so that the battery is calibrated.

This I find rather irregular and indicates poor quality; over the last 7-1/2 years I've had thresholds set on the 6 cell in my T61p... it's got a few hundred cycles on it and is holds 70% what it did when new.
