New favourite: P14s Gen 5 (intel)

Hey fellas.

Not sure if you're aware, but Lenovo is going to release the T14p (China-only model) to the rest of the world under the name "P14s Gen 5 (intel)". And it's got to be one the coolest models Lenovo has released in a long time.

To my knowledge, it's the first entry level P-series machine with a full metal case, yet it retains the Ethernet port (unlike most metal cased models). The cooling system (dual heatpipes extending to both sides getting cooled by two fans; a similar setup found on the new X1 Carbon Gen 12 but even more bad-butt) is way improved compared to the regular T series that Lenovo tweaks to sell as P series. It's got a new size screen: 14.5". And the most exciting feature of all: they finally raised the internal battery capacity to 75Wh. Of course, it'll have DIMM slots for memory.

Only down side is the keyboard: it is integrated into the deck, which will likely make future replacements more complicated.

For the sake of ecology I donated all my classic Thinkpads.

Its one of the most exciting models of this year's lineup, for sure. I hope we see more models move to the 14.5 inch size in the future, as that provides a really nice balance (same screen height as 15.6 inch 16:9, same screen width as 14 inch 16:9 = ideal to display two documents side by side)
