Newest Thinkpad with a true RS232 Serial port

#1 Post by Whitieiii » Wed Mar 22, 2023 3:47 am

Looking for the newest Thinkpad with an actual RS232 Serial port on it.. no docks (unless it's not through USB) and must not be USB to Serial as I've had far too many problems.. what machines can you recommend?

I'd say it's A31 and T30 series.

Thanks! Unfortunately I'm probably going to go with a Toughbook because i can get the perfect specs for Windows XP or Windows 7.. I'd love to use Linux but for what i need I'm forced to use Windows 32 bit... Maybe a core 2 duo machine as some are just a bit newer then the T60/T40 even though i can spec up to an i7 5th gen for cheap with Toughbooks.... I'm needing to program radios and I've never been able to get any usb-serial adapter to work properly... Also my software won't run on 64 bit windows and all i got is 64 bit loaded now...
