Hey, I purchased a used T23 a while ago and installed the battery wizard right after purchase. I didn't take note of it at the time but I'm pretty sure it said the cycle count of the battery was near, if not 0 and it says the first time the battey was used was january of this year and that the battery was manufactured in december 01.
While I do get a lot of time out of the battery (between 2.5-3 hours) I don't think its possible that its never been used before. I did a fresh install of XP and only installed the battery wizard this october. The machine was originally a certified IBM used refurb, maybe they included a new battery when it was re-purchased (I believe some time in late 02 or early 03)?
Are the readings its giving me accurate? Has the battery really nearly never been used? I get 35.71Wh out of the capacity of 38.88 on a full charge, is this good wear for 3 years of use (or at least the 12 cycles I've put on it)? Would the battery wizard know about cycles before it was installed?

That sounds like a good battery to me.
If you want, you can check the battery wear levels with NHC; that should tell you more information than the cycle counter which, as far as I know, only reports a full cycle of the battery (discharge/recharge) and may not correlate with usage along the lines of, say, being plugged into AC all week and not being used on battery.

I met someone who looks a lot like you.
She does the things you do.
But she is an IBM.

I remember the guy was really sore to part with the T23, but he never told me why
For those wondering NHC is herehttp://www.pbus-167.com/chc.htm
It tells me my hdd has 104 days of use, can anyone compare?
