Any real difference between these 2 product lines of Kingston RAM? The ValueRAM product literature gives a comparison stating that--apart from a different return policy--the Value line is just not tested to ensure 100% system-specific compatibility. I want to add 1GB to my T41 (2379, but with a T41p mobo replacement), so am I correct in assuming that as long as the required specs match (same for T41/p), the ValueRAM will still work fine?
Specs for T41/p RAM: PC2700 CL2.5 NP DDR333 SDRAM SODIMM, 200 pin, gold

This will work right?

Searching by system model, etc compatibility I find this, which has IBM OEM part number. It's costs almost twice as much?!

So is it really worth getting the compatibility-tested stuff? I know Kingston is good, so I'd like to know if compatibility is really a concern beyond matching up those specs above...
BTW I have 512MB Crucial in the other slot, but I'm also under the impression that brand isn't a big deal either as long as it's quality and the same speed, type, etc.

I bought two 512MB PC2100 ValueRAM SODIMM sticks directly from Kingston for my Dell Inspiron 8200. They worked, but the laptop seemed to crash slightly more often than before. Could have been my imagination though.
Hopefully, someone on this board has tried ValueRAMs on a TP41p so that they can give you advice specific to this model.

A few months ago I upgraded the memory on my T41 with a 512 MB stick - Kingston ValueRAM (PC2700 in my case - KVR333X64SC25/512). No problem so far. The other stick is the original IBM one (256 MB).
