client security solution t40

#1 Post by Dato2020 » Sat May 06, 2006 7:36 pm

I downloaded and installed the IBM Client Security solution My problem is the computer checks the embedded chip status for about 5 minutes before normal start up. I also do not see any way to uninstall.

Any solutions?

Thanks,

If I'm not mistaken, you can uninstall it from Windows Add or Remove Programs. Go to Start > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs. Scroll through the list (it is probably listed under ThinkVantage) and uninstall.

I installed it once about a year ago (probably an older version), and I was able to unistall it without any problem.

Thank you , but their is no clear choice to uninstall. one possibility is Thinkpad Access Connections but it only has 2.4 mb...I am nervous about uninstalling this one for fear of not being able to reconnect.....none of the others seem to apply.

Don't be concerned about uninstalling Access Connections - I don't use it on my T40 because the most recent update added 30 seconds to my boot time (I let Windows manage my wireless, so if you do uninstall it, go into the Control Panel Wireless Connections properties beforehand).

But as for CSS, I can't find it in Add/Remove Programs either, but you should find it in Software Installer if you select "Uninstall currently installed driver(s) or software". On mine it's under ThinkVantage Client Security Solution. Alos, a third party optimising program (such as TuneUp Utilities or Tweak XP) should bring it up in their uninstalling app :)
