Ok whats next??????

#1 Post by abibaby » Fri Jan 05, 2007 8:19 am

Friends

I've got a T60 and wanted to experiment with clean installation and finally done it without making the copies of rescue and recovery.

Now when I wanted to revert back to the factory setup I was not able to boot through the rnr partition and trying to do in somany ways ultimately lost the partition.

Whats next for me???????

Will I be able to authenticate myself with Lenovo and get a copy of rescue n recovery disks......

What will be thw way out for me........???????

Somebody please direct me in the right path>>>>>>

If you have lost the PreDesktop Area, then call IBM and purchase a set of recovery CD's. Try F11 when you start to see if that starts a recovery. ... JD Hurst

Ok let me do that

But I like the way the predesktop area works.....

Will the rescue disks have the ability to rebuild the predesktop area....

Thanks for that lightning response......

IBM (Lenovo) - supplied Recovery CD's will rebuild the PreDesktop Area. You usually have to delete all the partitions and reset the master boot record, but then the Recovery will replace it all.

I have always managed to get my recovery sets for free (silver-toungued devil that I am), but times have changed, and I think the sets are 45 dollars (or thereabouts) each. Worth it, though. I would have no hesistation to buy a set if I needed to.

:::

Or you can create your own set
with you IBM for free. Just use Very Good
Quality CD/DVD+R
