My second newbie post... Is there a reasonably clear and concise overview of all the ThinkVantage software somewhere, as in what components there are and roughly what they do? I've been poking around for a while without finding much... I could of course explore them one by one (and for some components this is clearly what I'll have to do) but if there are some obvious candidates for deinstallation then it would be nice to find that out up front.
I understand some people prefer to reinstall a clean system, but that's probably not the best option for me since I like some of the security features. I'm a home user btw.
Take a look at our

I find very useful these apps in the ThinkVantage suite:
Active protection system (HD shock protection)
Access connections (easy management of network configurations)
Presentation director (management of video configurations)
Power manager (management of power schemes and battery life)
System update (checks for updates to the Thinkvantage software)
Rescue and recovery (backup and restore software)
Thinkpad configuration (centralized gateway to many windows control screens)
I uninstalled the other applications of the suite, and I don't miss them (but of course this may be different for other users).
