need advice on H.264 decoding with ATI X1400

it seems that my Z61m with x1400 has a certain level of hardware assisted decode that takes the load off the cpu when decoding H.264.

can anybody recommend a lite and capable codec/player that takes advantage of this? (OS is XP Pro at the moment)

also would like to do more reading on this subject. pls direct me to relavant sites...
