USB ultrabay (slim) caddy?
USB ultrabay (slim) caddy?
Is there a USB ultrabay caddy of some sort? I've got an extra cdrw/dvd drive from my t40 that i'd like to use on a tablet pc as a USB cd... is there any way of making this happen? i've tried searching but it seems like there isn't...
I know that there are adapters for dell notebook CDroms to convert to IDE or scsi since they are used in small format computers and servers... maybe there is one for the thinkpad?

ok, maybe i lied, i thought there was something but now can't find anything. What i have tho is a Floppy thingy that's used on the Docks but it's removable and is a regular ultrabay connector in there. I thought i could probably just stick a dvd burner in there or something but i'm not so sure. The one i have is also not the "slim" version so i'l just go sit in the corner over there now....
In theory it seems it might be possible...
You could get an IBM Portable Drive Bay 2000 USB/PCMCIA 19K4480, then plug in a Ultrabay Slim Drive Adapter for Ultrabay 2000 62P4557. You could then plug your optical drive into that. One thing is, I am not sure if there are drivers that you can use with XP or not. Also, I am not sure the entire combination would work (for whatever reason).
