I-series Thinkpad model 1410

#1 Post by jeanpaul » Tue Jan 04, 2005 1:13 pm

I have one of these with 32 MB RAM and a 3.4 G hard drive.
It has Windows 98 and MS Office 2000 on it.
Also has a Modem, CD ROM, and 3.5" floppy drive.
works fine - never had any problems.
What would the resale value be?

What could / should be upgraded to load XP onto it? (Tried and got the message that this cant be done in present configuration).
what would then be the resale value of the laptop?

Thanks, Paul

Depends, what's the proccessor and display specs? TFT's will have a higher value than HPA's. The processor speed will also have an influence on price.

As for the OS, you'd need to have 64 mb or more RAM to install Windows XP and at least 128mb for XP to run fast. At your computer's current state, I'd say it's best to keep Windows 98.
