I think I found a perfect cordless mouse for thinkpad
I think I found a perfect cordless mouse for thinkpad
I was looking for a mouse for my thinkpad for very long time and the requirements i have in the mouse are:
- normal size! not that super compact one that's not comfortable to use
- wireless, either RF or bluetooth is fine
- on/off switch!
- design
And I found it!
It's Logitech Mediaplay Cordless mouse in Red/Black.
http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/produ ... NTID=10247
It's color matches thinkpad color perfectly and the review of this mouse (on the normal blue color one) is great.

picture is 12.3KB so i believe it should be ok for dialup users
If they make this mouse with bluetooth, That'd be my ideal mouse.
Edited by Moderator: You added the comment about dial-up users, and yet you still didn't put a warning in the subject line. Well, that's OK. I fixed it for you.

For $5 more than the retail price of the Mediaplay mouse, you could also get this:
Logitech MX1000 Laser Cordless Mouse

In my opinion (and for many others as well) it's probably one of the best mice you can buy.
You can read Tomshardware's take on this mouse:

That MX1000 is sure a better mouse but i don't think i want to carry it's oh so big receiver/charger with me. If it's bluetooth and no need to have that big receiver. Yes, i agree it'll be my new ideal mouse.
And you cannot compare MediaPlay's retail price to MX1000's market price.
For MediaPlay, you can get it for about $36 shipped from buy.com

Well, if you want to travel then the MX1000 is out of the question. It does indeed have a huge receiver/charger.
If money was no object, then this would probably be very good too:
Logitech MX900 Bluetooth Optical Mouse - $76 shipped
http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDe ... ode=211029
It's design is nearly identical to the MX1000, sans the laser and recharger base.
Only crazy people pay for full retail price

I have the MX900 and love it. I used it for the last year with my T41p. I also have the Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer Bluetooth and prefer the MX900 by far.
For travel tho, I use a ThinkOutide Bluetooth mouse...extremely tiny and worked perfectly with my Thinkpad...it also doubles its duty for use with my PDA....I also have the ThinkOutside keyboard...both are excellent for travel very reliable since the last software update from TO.
