Access Connections cannot control Intel 2915 abg radio
Access Connections cannot control Intel 2915 abg radio
Access Connections/Fn+F5 cannot turn on the Intel 2915 abg radio (or, it can, but it won't realize it, and won't budge along). I want to give Access Connections a try since I'm extremely fed up with Windows' Wireless Zero Configuration (it doesn't work at ALL for me, especially when you start doing sane stuff, like WEP).
I've uninstalled AC, the driver, da da da, and all the recommendations, along with reinstalling the driver. I'm not sure if I got it to work once after I did a clean install, but the forums say that I need Intel's Sebring API. Installed that too, but I think that Intel deprecated the API for their latest release.
Anyone know if there's something else I can try to get AC to be able to toggle the intel card's radio?

Download the lateset WLAN driver and Hotkey Software from IBM website.
In the latest version of WLAN driver you do NOT need to install Sebring API separately
Intall the latest version of the driver mentioned above by Software Installer
PS:I'm using a Intel 2200BG with the latest driver, Fn+F5 function is OK

I did mean the latest version of Hotkey and the latest version of WLAN driver, if you didn't update your Wireless Adapter driver, Fn+F5 may never functionroast wrote:Nope.. that doesn't work. I downloaded the full Access Connections and installed it through Software Installer, and the hotkey software was included. Still no go.

I have the latest hotkey and WLAN drivers installed, and they came from the AC bundle. I uninstalled both, restarted, and reinstalled both using software installer.
To clairfy, pressing FN+F5 shows the control window, but clicking "turn on" will not turn the radio on (or off). It also shows that the 802.11 wireless radio is off when it is actually on (and connected to an AP, with traffic being sent over the interface).
