Upgrade hard drive
IBM's website shows an 80GB/5400rpm hard drive on sale for $225. If I'm willing to wait until my budget allows it this Fall, is there a better way to go? Preferably a 100GB+ drive under $200? I'd appreciate advice. I'm hesitant to buy anything other than "real" IBM (scared of hardware/warranty issues) as a "sophisticated end user."

The warrantee covers your original hard drive.r50cheapskate wrote:IBM's website shows an 80GB/5400rpm hard drive on sale for $225. You can replace the hard drive with whichever you prefer.
NewEgg.com is a reputable dealer that has an assortment of drives. Get a Hitachi drive to keep the "IBM feel"- same drives they use...

Hard drive
Thanks for the advice. Newegg.com lists the 5400rpm 80GB drive at $116, a lot cheaper than Lenovo's sale price of $225, let alone the list price of $300.
Would this require any kind of fittings or mounting equipment, or does it just hook onto that little pullout thing?
