Mom wants a Thinkpad
Mom wants a Thinkpad
She saw and used my T400 so she's in love with it now.. Which one would she want? I know she wants one of the older models but not too sure what she wants.. she like the solid keyboard feel but she feels mine is a little on the heavy side but to me it feels normal given some of the larger screen laptops I've used.
Re: Mom wants a Thinkpad
Sounds like she wants the T400s/T410s/T420s. The s models are a little bit lighter and thinner than the T400.

If you're T400 is too heavy, perhaps a X20x or X30x is worth a look.

Re: Mom wants a Thinkpad
If she likes "older" because she wants cheap, then the X61 and X61s are worth considering, especially if she likes 4:3 aspect ratio. The X200 and X200s are a bit pricier but are newer, widescreen, and have higher screen resolution. I have read that the T400s is not so reliable, and it's probably a bit on the expensive side anyway. The T410s, T420s and X30* recommended by others would cost even more.MikeCL wrote:I know she wants one of the older models but not too sure what she wants.. she like the solid keyboard feel but she feels mine is a little on the heavy side

Ugh well shes telling me she wants the same as mine or better so I figure I would just get the same or if I find a slightly higher model get that if it's a good deal.

Sounds like the T410s would be the best for her. It's almost the same as your T400, except it's significantly lighter.MikeCL wrote:Ugh well shes telling me she wants the same as mine or better so I figure I would just get the same or if I find a slightly higher model get that if it's a good deal.
