A31 internal LCD problem

Can anyone provide some guidance on a problem where my A31's internal LCD is blank (no picture), but an external LCD connected to the external monitor port is fine.

Before the internal LCD went blank its brightness was fluctuating rapidly for a few minitues at a time (before settling down). This happened for a day or so before the panel went dark.

Sounds to me like your backlight has gone out.
Family Daily Drivers- T450s, T540p
Work- Sadly, the ThinkPads have gone away...... and replaced by HP Chromebox drone machines :(
