Fingerprint reader unreliable since installing NOD32
Fingerprint reader unreliable since installing NOD32
Is there a file or working directory associated with the fingerprint reader that should be excluded in NOD32 (or any other AV product)?

None AFAIK. I have been using NOD32 on my T60 for almost an year adn I have had zero problems with using the fingerprint reader.
What problem are you facing with the FP reader? Does it take more swipes to register your fingerprint?

I have a 1 month old T61m. The fingerprint reader seemed to be working reliably when I first configured it. Since then I upgraded from Vista Home Premium to Ultimate, and installed a few apps and utilities, including NOD32.
Now it takes multiple finger swipes to get logged in, if it works at all. Often the reader doesn't even register the red 'X' when it fails.
There is quite a bit of HD activity when the log-in screen is displayed which I attribute to NOD32 performing a boot-up scan. Of course, it could be something else entirely.

Since updating to FS 5.6 (Fingerprint Software) a couple of months ago, my reader also requires two swipes for login on Web sites. Sometimes, if I have another browser window open or a cache of a site previously opened with FS, it requires only one swipe.
Before the upgrade, FS worked just fine. So I don't think it is NOD32 causing the problem. There's a bug in FS, and I am waiting for the next update that I hope will fix it.
