Need help with setting/programming the "special" keys on the USB Enhanced keyboard (Lock, My Docs, Word, Spreadsheet, ...). The ones which sit a row above the std function keys.
I have a new x60s laptop with the keyboard plugged into the dock. S/W not installing properly (driver). Error says previous/older version present and to delete with Add Programs -- did that and it still won't install the s/w.
Ideas? Be nice to use the extra buttons on the kybd. No luck with generic google search. Beginning to wonder if my IT department purposely disabled it...
Thanks,

Enhanced performance keybord - programming hotkeys?
Solution found...
Bit hit or miss, but after trying everything else...
Went to Lenovo site (again) and downloaded the older driver (2.0.0.6):
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... 55257.html
Instead of just installing it, I tried using the extra install switches from the Run command line:
.../Setup.exe /s /v/qn
which does a silent install. Saw the cursor blink a few times and display the hour glass like it was actually doing something for a change.
Waited a few minutes - since it's silent there was no indication that it was done.
Rebooted (actually went to pure shutdown, not restart).
Upon reboot, nothing looked different. hit the Blue suitecase/tool button on the Enhanced keyboard and system info displayed. I then noticed a new icon in the tool try --> Customize Rapid Access Keyboard icon. I can now modify the major hotkeys (My Docs thru Internet). Still can't reassign the media player button, but I'm 99% there.
Your mileage may vary...
