Always nice to see old Thinkpads that works. In the old days (Old days, like 10-15 years ago) the square black IBM box, like your 380Z, was to me always a sign of a high end, good quality business laptop.

And if all the Thinkpads in your signature are in that box, I believe what you are saying about not being able to lift it..

Yep they are. including the Compaq and Apple laptop. any time I want to go back in time I just pull out what ThinkPad I want and use it. I like to make it look like I have one laptop with the others hidden.

What I did today.
Got some wood and starting to build my built-in HDTv just need to get some OSB. watching MacGyver and working on my ThinkPad R40 on the desk today.

My new plan:
I got some ideas for my ThinkPads and a book shelf would be great for them.
Right now there laying side by side in my create and as you can see some are stacked ontop. and if I wanted a certin one I'd have to remove the ones on top to get to it. where as a book shelf I can just pick what one I want and slide it out just like a book in a library.

This would also be good because I wouldn't have to have them stacked ontop of eachother witch I don't like that. fear of cracking the screen

The ThinkPad Stand.
If you rather use your ThinkPad as a sort of mini slim desktop like I did, this would be great to do. this is only a test model of the stand. but will make one and paint it black with the ThinkPad logo on it.
In image is my ThinkPad X41, but can fit any ThinkPad I want on it.

I guess the plus about this is not using the LCD on the laptop as much and also letting the bottom be cooled.
kinda of reminds me of my Portable Drive Bay 2000 on its stand.
