T60p faint beeping sound w/ heaphones on

My T60p makes a barely audible beeping sound when I'm wearing headphones. It's a *very* quiet series of 7 beeps every 5 seconds or so (Not the extremely loud beep when you push 3 buttons at the same time). Furthermore, I can only hear it when I'm wearing my etymotic er6i in-ear heaphones -- I can't hear it with speakers or even with other over-ear headphones.

Changing the volume or muting the sound have no effect, and playing music or running any application with sound pretty much completely drowns out the beeping.

I've had this problem ever since I bought the computer, but now my warranty is set to expire soon, so I'm considering sending in to have it looked at and possibly repaired.

I'm wondering what other people's opinion are on the matter, and whether or not anyone else has had this problem.

Any help would be much appreciated.
