UltraBay Slim adapter T61

Does anyone know if there exist an adapter for Ultrabay Slim DVD-ROMs meant for the T61? Meaning that you could use the drive either through USB or PATA/SATA externally?

The closest thing I saw was a forum post from 2009: viewtopic.php?t=76804
