I'm in troble with the fan of my old t61 .
the problems started with a lot of noise that i tried to solve cleaning the original one an lubricating it. It seems to solve the problems but after a month the problems come back also with a random "fan error + two beeps" on turning on the pc.
I installed then a chinese compatible fan but now, every time, i switch on it gives "fan error+ two beeps". I wait that the pc shout down and then at the second attempt it starts without issue....every time.
Somebody has a suggestion? Thanks.

You can bypass the error when it appears on the screen by pressing esc. The system will boot normally from there.

You still need to clean it out again. Make sure it's really clean then add a drop of Synthetic ATF (DEXRON VI) to the fan tip and bearing.
