T60 Graphics

Hey guys I currently have a T 60 with the X 1300 ATI card and I was wondering if anyone could tell me which T 60 has the most powerful graphics and if possible easiest way to identify it as I’d like to pick one up and just put the hard drive from my current t60 in there and update the drivers I know there’s a Ati 5250 card and Ive seen on the Internet some with the Intel 950 but I’m not sure which one is the best, someone can point me in the right direction to the most powerful Graphics and if it comes with the most powerful CPU as well if not I can swap the core 2 duo I have now. What Core 2 do you have? Of the Core 2 Duos, T60 can only use Merom Socket M.

The most powerful GPU on T60 is the one used in the later T60p, the FireGL V5250 equivalent to a Radeon X1700.

There's three different form factors of T60p to look for to source your GPU-board or entire computer. Standard screen 14.1" and 15.0" T60ps use the same motherboard/planar with an interposer while Widescreen 15.4" T60p uses its own planar design. I imagine your drive should be able to swap between Standard and Widescreen models with no problem.

Hey! Thanks for you reply. So I have to look for the T60P? Is there a specific number that can tell me which one packs the 5250? And I believe my cpu is the t7600 I’m not sure if it’s the G variant but I’m pretty sure it’s just the standard 7600

T7600 should work just fine in T60. It's usually recommended to have your BIOS at the latest version so CPU compatibility is ensured.

For model numbers...
You can download https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B08nIG ... lzY28/view which is a spreadsheet of ThinkPad model numbers and descriptions, and filter by T60 or T60p and V5250. But this is not very practical as there are a LOT of different models.

More practically I would start looking at what T60ps are around and enter their model numbers into the http://sm.krelay.de/tp/index.php link at the top of the forum.

Any T60p will have either the FireGL 5250 or the equivalent FireGL 5200. So just check the screen bezel for the T60p inscription.

If you have no luck, mine should be ready to go in a few weeks. I'm still migrating all my data off mine, which is a 2007-ys3, with a T7600 and the 5250 graphics. In Quebec City. It has a 10-year-old Hydis Flexview that is still tolerably bright but the colors have yellowed horribly. And a CF keyboard with lots of shiny keys It is semi-retired right now.

You mean the screen has yellowed? Is there anything that can be done to fix it?And that’s cool I’m in Montréal lol

I was compensating for the yellowed screen with the ATI Control Panel, it's a matter of adjusting the colors to bring the blue back. It's tolerable like that, reasonable color balance, but without the contrast and brilliance of a new Hydis. These do yellow, though more slowly than the Philips 1280X1024 screens, which this one originally had.
