question about lights in suspend mode

#1 Post by ghanwani » Wed Mar 22, 2006 10:05 pm

When my laptop is in suspend mode there are 2 lights
that are on - the crescent, which is what I would expect,
and the LED by the USB port on the right hand side.

Why is the LED by the USB port on? Is this expected?

Thanks,
Anoop

I think that light just indicates that the ultrabay is in use. Always seemed a bit of a waste to me...

Try taking out your optical drive and see if the light goes off.

It goes off when I remove the optical drive. I wonder why it
needs to remain "on" when the machine is suspended.
