T60 memory upgrade

I have T60 1.83 dual core running vista with 1GB ram, I'm thinking of upgrading the ram, I can't decide whether to install a 1gb or 2gb memory. Would 2gb make a big difference over a 1 gb upgrade?

that questions has been asked a lot. it depends what you are running. for basic tasks, 1gb is enough for XP (2gb for Vista). considering you can pick up 1gb for $25 after rebate at newegg (crucial brand) then you may as well go for the upgrade.

Considering there is only two slots i would only recommend the 3 GB solution.

a 2 GB stick is nowadays affordable too
