X60 Battery went from good condition to fair overnight
X60 Battery went from good condition to fair overnight
So last night my battery was fine and in good condition, I ran it down all the way while using it and did not recharge until this morning, now my battery manager says this:
Condition: Fair
Your battery can store 69% of its original full charge capacity. Click the Help button to learn about increasing battery lifespan.
My battery life is now considerably less that before. What can I do? Send it back to Lenovo? It's about 8 months old and has only been cycled 44 times!

Lithium batteries don't need deep cycling. Never run down those batteries to zero percent...and leave it there.
It's already 8 months old, so your current battery capacity is quite normal.

Sounds like a good advice. Also, try to use the battery only when necessary, which is what I do to all of my laptops. The battery of the first laptop I ever owned, a Dell Inspiron 8200, could still hold an almost full charge after three years because I ran the laptop on battery only when necessary.pphilipko wrote:Lithium batteries don't need deep cycling.
