Replace T43 w/ T60 or X60

#1 Post by majiklantrn » Wed Apr 25, 2007 6:38 pm

T43 - Pentium M 2ghz, 2gig RAM, 80gig 5400 RPM, x300 64mb

I was looking at the T60 but figured if I get a replacement for my T43 I might as well go smaller, more portable. So I am now looking at the X60: C2D 1.83ghz, 1gig (1dimm, update later), 100 7200 RPM, etc.. Just curious about the on board video and how it will compare to my T43 x300. I'll be mainly using this PC for work which includes freq. use of Virtual Machines, Visual Studio, nothing graphic wise.

Hows the display of the x60 vs the x60s? I wouldn't mind going for the x60s but I wanted to go with the core 2 duo.

Opinions?

well,
for portability X60/s would be the best option.
for IBM Legendary Classic Look, T43.
for Latest Tech with Core2duo, go for T60 or even T61...

hope it helps... 8)

i have chosen T43 and X60s...

The only thing I worry about with the X60 is the screen resolution and picture quality.

I agree that the X60's XGA screen is useless. There is a very small chance that the X61 will offer SXGA+, so you may want to wait for a few months. Or, get the X60 tablet with SXGA+ (currently available). Fairly heavy for an "ultraportable", but still substantially lighter than a T60/T61.
