I believe most X60s's come with a 3 yr warranty, but when pricing an X60s on the lenovo website there are 2 areas that are somewhat confusing to me.
One is the area where you can choose optional Warranty Service that goes out to 5 yrs for Depot or On-Site service, which I think I understand. But then there is another area for choosing Extended Service, also up to 5 yrs for Depot or On-Site repair.
What is the difference?

Warranty service upgrades are to be purchased if the thinkpad is used for business or by a company. Extended service contracts are to be purchased if the thinkpad is used for home or personal use. The upgrades are the same price whether you choose business or personal. For the X60S, this isn't so important as all levels are offered for both business and personal. It makes a difference for lower end machines like a z60m, where not all service upgrades are the same for biz or personal. Hope this helps.
