X201 -Blueootn always ON at startup
X201 -Blueootn always ON at startup
Maybe someone can help?
I installed Windows 10 (clean install) in my X201 for the first time. As a whole it is working.
I installed the following drivers among some others.
Power management driver: n20ku10w_x64
Hotkey features: 83vu18ww (Lenovo interface driver and on-screen display)
NB: r0yvu35w gives a different command style, but still bluetooth is always ON at startup.)
So, with 83vu18ww, Fn+F5 works as it used to work with Windows 7.
The problem is that Bluetooth is always ON at startup!! Even when I turn it off before shutting down the computer, I power on the PC and Bluetooth is always ON!! (So, I have to turn if off to have bluetooth disabled!!)
Three Bluetooth related services are all set to manual.
(I don't want to disable them, as I want to use bluetooth when necessary. I don't want to disable it in the device manager or uninstall the driver for the same reason.)
If bluetooth is always ON at startup, is it by Windows 10 specification? Is there a way to keep bluetooth disabled at startup?
Or, maybe, the drivers I installed are not the right ones?
Can someone help? Thank you!

Re: X201 -Blueootn always ON at startup
It's Windows 10. It does the same thing in my X220. I'm not too bothered since it's a dual-boot machine and use Linux primarily.
Planned Purchase: T480s i5-8350 FHD Touch
Impulse Buy: Thinkpad not named for safety reasons

Re: X201 -Blueootn always ON at startup
Thank you very much!! This is very useful information. So, this behavior is maybe by Windows 10 specification. Anyway, I had other machines with dual boot with Linux, too. So, I was thinking of dual booting with Linux when I finish testing with Windows 10.axur-delmeria wrote: ↑Fri Jul 09, 2021 7:50 amIt's Windows 10. It does the same thing in my X220. If there is a way to disable Bluetooth at startup by running some kind of a script, that would be really nice.

Re: X201 -Blueootn always ON at startup
Thank you. I tested this setting a few days ago. And, at that time with OFF setting, bluetooth adapter was always ON.
Now I have re-installed and reconfigured services ans tasks in Task Scheduler, by disabling some of them. And. now, if I turn off Bluetooth with Fn+F5, it remains OFF at startup. (service configuration based on Blackviper safe configuration) Although I don't know which service or task has changed this behavior, but I noted my new configuration, so I can reproduce it when necessary.
Best regards
PS: I installed some software, and now Blue tooth adapter is always ON as before..... So, the problem is not solved!
PS2: I have been testing since. I was using Windows generic bluetooth driver, but I updated it with the driver from 7zbv19ww.
Now, when I i turn off Bluetooth with Fn_F5, and I shutdown and start the PC, the bluetooth adapter remains OFF. But, when I reboot, the bluetooth adapter is always On. This behavior is independent of the bluetooth setting in Windoes. Well, I guess I can live with this...
