So I order an X220 tablet off eBay and decided to install an SSD in the msata slot and reload Win 7 Pro 64 bit on the SSD. Here's where I run into problems.
1st off, I burned the recovery discs, which were verified by the program as fine. Pulled HDD, attached external USB CDRW/DVDRW drive, and booted up from disc 1. Disc 1 of recovery program went fine, but then it started spewing "The DVD you are using is not the correct DVD. Insert the correct one." Oh s-it I thought. Reinserted DVD 1 and it took it. Got to the prompt for DVD2. This time, it would not accept the DVD no matter what.
I figured that the program had messed up and not verified the discs properly. Called Lenovo, asked for a replacement, which they sent. Still same error, only now at disc 1 instead (!). So I cannot get either of the DVDs to work now (!).
PS, I wondered if it was the DVD drive or the SSD, so I used a vanilla Win 7 Pro 64bit disc from my HP laptop and it installed fine, no errors or problems. Boots without any problems to this vanilla installation, but I hate installing all the Lenovo drivers myself. Frankly, I like the Lenovo preload.

Re: X220 tablet R/R error: "The DVD you are using is not..."
Hola Oliver*;
Firstly make sure you HAVE THE LATEST BIOS ....check Lenovo Support for that...
might fix your 'issues'....
and.......
you should HAVE NO MAJOR issues ; if you use the HP OEM dvd to install windows(provided it installs all the Windows OS etc) if there are any drivers that match , the HP dvd will pick it up as if they are NORMAL!! (I did actually do that once with my older x201 sometime ago while travellings!!)
Than after you Win boots and you created user etc .... FIRST INSTAL = should be Lenovo System UPDATE and .... after that install .... you can istall ALL DRIVERS /BIOS etc as per normal..
EASY work-around if your DVD/BOOT dvd is not workng - and if LENOVO ones are not working - that I would say you most likely have a bad DEVICE READER ......
Hope this helps
Cheers

Re: X220 tablet R/R error: "The DVD you are using is not..."
I actually finally managed to install the freaking software. Not sure it was anything I did, maybe one more try was what it took. Also took a couple tries to get the preload customization to install correctly (!). But it is finally running and the new SSD is amazingly fast
Now I just need to delete all the extra junk they sneaked on there and free up some ssd space.

Re: X220 tablet R/R error: "The DVD you are using is not..."
I got this issue just tonight with the "wrong DVD" message during recovery. It turns out I had to put in the disc that I had labeled as "disc 3" for it to continue successfully. Not sure if I had mislabeled my discs, or if the system was asking for the wrong disc during the prompt. Just another solution for someone to try in case they're having the same problem.
