In the last week I soldered the FPC cable on my keyboard 4 times. Under microscope. This thing is begging for a new keyboard. While I still have time until I go in there installing SSD, I might as well ask several questions.

Keyboards from ali (eBay same thing) good or to avoid? If latter where to get a keyboard?

What keyboards are compatible with my model? Perhaps there is a type of keyboard that is more desirable over others?

Columns in the HMM: Alps / Chicony /NMB.

Rubber cups/pads colour under the keys: NMB=red, ALPS=white, Chicony=grey.

T510, T520, X220, T410, T420, T410s, T420s, T400s, W510, W520 KBs are all interchangeable.

NMB is generally considered the best.

i have not yet come across NMB but i have to say alps compared to chicony is trash
