Trackpoint and GPRS PCMCIA cards
Trackpoint and GPRS PCMCIA cards
Interesting behavior. After installing Sony-Ericsson card trackpoints drifts to the left side where's my card with antenna. Is there any remedy or at least making trackpoint off.
Machine: Thinkpad S30.

Dzien dobry!
Weird. Try to update the TrackPoint driver and utility. If it still doesn't work, you can turn it off. Check our FAQ.
Where did you get the S30?

Ahoy,
Do you have polish roots ?
Well, new drivers from IBM doesn’t help because it's a hardware problem. Tough luck. I've just switched it off in BIOS.
Two years ago. I was in local laptop service store with my TP390e that had TFT cables ground problem. One of the owner walk into and said "Look have you ever seen that tiny machine". Really pretty good - I've said. He showed me new battery type and Japanese keyboard. I came back to home and forgot about s30. Few weeks later after my 390e sale (that was a real luck) I came back to that shop to check is there any quite cheap laptop for sale. And s30 was on stock. That was a little surprise - I thought the owner bought this unit for oneself. I've decided to buy this machine but this took several weeks because I wanted to haggle. I've spent 750$ but after purchase the screen had been failing. The problem was trivial - connection between inverter and TFT - it was really lousy. I've tried to repair myself but unluckily had blown main chip, grrrr
As you may know this inverter is really uncommon
But luckily here in Poland we have really good service so that I've sent machine to Warsaw - two times because for first time they doesn't repaired inverter connection. The repair was cheap compared to the usual price for inverters. Now it works well. I really like it despite the fact that in Photoshop I can’t do 90 deg rotating because machine hangs up. This is a memory problem I think. Also in battery mode some applications can hang up also.
So this machine has its quirks but I love it
