While he does have a point, it's clear that the writer simply has a fetish for clickiness (as evident from his preferred MX Blue switch).

I care about performance of a keyboard, not about the sound it makes (in fact - too loud is bad). Mechanical switches have the advantage of being able to support NRKO (or at least 6KRO), but honestly, even good membrane keyboards that do selective 3KRO and support up to 4-5 specific keys at the same time, are good enough for most games. Laptop keyboards (including the best Thinkpad keyboards) don't offer that, though; they are awful 2KRO and jam with most 3-key combinations.

So in the end the guy discovered that Thinkpads have the best keyboard on laptops. That's not really news either.

I like how this writer makes no mention of MSI's laptop with an uncompromised tenkeyless mechanical keyboard.
The laptop is a gigantic beast and has almost no palmrest, its out there giving good mechanical feel, the model line is still in production.

Also not everyone likes mechanical keyboards, it's not for everyone, and some of these rubber dome keyboards feel pretty nice to type on.
