Old cracked LCDs

#1 Post by ThinkPad560X » Wed May 05, 2021 12:42 am

Does anyone have a use for old cracked LCD screens? I have a lot of them when I use to repair with IBM and also when I had my own PC repair business. If not and are just trash then It is fine then. I will just keep the LCD ribbons and mark them in case someone needs one on here. I kept the screens too as their back light maybe still good as well. I use to get in a lot of crack screen laptops back then. :P

I would keep the screens that have a CCFL backlight that's still perfectly good.
I kinda learnt the hard way that CCFL tubes are actually quite expensive for new ones and unless you are looking at replacing the backlight of a high resolution screen, it's simply not worth the money.
For the LED backlit screens I guess you can always take out the backlighting and use them in certain DIY projects or something
