Divide by two.

Subtract the number you started with from the number you now have.

The answer is 12.5!

The real trick is this case is that the chart to the left is changing everytime. There are only so many possible answers to that riddle, and all of them end up as the same symbol in the chart, it's just not immediately obvious since it changes everytime you guess.
