I have really become enamored by the X230T. I have the backlit keyboard version. (True, the screen is not as tall as the X61 and the keyboard feel on the X61 is somewhat better, but the X230T seems to be a worthy replacement.)

So, I bought an X230T on ebay without a battery, charger or hard drive for $100.

I just got it going with an extra hard drive I had but have found that it does not have a backlit keyboard which is a deal breaker for me.

So, the question is: Can I add a Backlit Keyboard to an X230T 3435-2TU ?

You have been on the forum often enough that you should have known the following already!
As soon as you get a new (to you) Thinkpad, you download its HMM which (until 9 years ago) included a parts list.
From xx30 series onward parts are no longer listed in the HMM.
You need to download a separate parts list (a.k.a. frubom or fru_bom) for each.
Google for e.g.: lenovo x230t parts list and find something like this: https://support.lenovo.com/ie/en/soluti ... 30i-tablet
Then on that Lenovo webpage scrounge for anything to download, in this case: x230t_fru_bom_20140421.pdf
And in there you find your answer.

Yes. It's pretty easy once you find the right part.
