Thinkpad T460s and Linux Ubuntu

I have not used this machine much in the last few years and today installed Ubuntu onto it, keeping the Windows core. If I remove Windows completely, will there be any problems associated with hardware or anything else? I would rather just have Ubuntu on it and not worry about Windows updates (that have ended anyway) etc.

Nope. You don't have to worry. Just make sure you have all your personal files backed up.
ThinkPads play quite well with Linux and the only thing I know of that is on Windows and not on Linux is Lenovo software.
Those are covered by built in Linux packages though so you don't need to worry.
Though actually you may want to check fprintd supports your fingerprint reader if you have it and want to use it.

The T460s is old enough to have great support on Linux. The only possible wrinkles I could think of are the Geforce 930M GPU (if your T460s has it) and the fingerprint reader.

It is just Intel graphics, not a discrete card.
The fingerprint reader is a Validity Sensor VFS7500. I have tried a procedure for installing it, but it did not work. But it is not critical to have it functioning.
