Anyone know how to disable the Password Manager?

I can't seem to figure out how to disable the password manager component of the client security solution. It loads on every startup, and sits in the system tray. Harmless, but useless. I use roboform instead. I could uninstall the whole CSS, but I still want to use the Fingerprint reader portion for windows logins.

I'm in linux right now so I can't give you an exact step by step, but just open the Password Manager and go into it's preferences, in the tab where you can select options like the different security levels for different aspects and enable for different browsers, one of the check boxes should be something along the lines of "enable password manager", or something very similar.

There is indeed a setting like that, but unchecking it doesnt appear to do anything. On the next reboot, it will still load, and the box will still be checked.

Hmmm, I'll have to check mine. I haven't had my coffee yet and the day prior I was up for nearly thirty hours. When I did this I was just seperating my normal XP user from the admin group and had disabled it while logged in as administrator. When I logged back in as my normal user, the password manager didn't come up, so I assumed it was a global setting. But now that I think about it, I think I saw it hanging around down there earlier today. I'll have to check.

If you are using the latest version of CSS, download the adm template from : http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... MIGR-66966 (The ThinkVantage Technologies Administrator tools page). And use group policies (gpedit.msc) to disable password manager.
