s24evmon.exe problem

hi all,

sometimes I find my T60 with windows XP is behaving very slowly and the mouse is quite unresponsive and jumpy.
this is usually becayse s24evmon.exe is taking up processor time - so I just kill it from task manager and everything is fine again.

does anyone know what is causing this and is there a workaround?
